When I first used a dating website, I was very picky. I searched through what felt like a thousand user profiles looking for my perfect match.

I was just about to loose interest when I stubbled across a womens profile that in my eyes was a perfect match for me! She had a great profile photo, she shared many of my interests, she was a non-smoker and she was looking for a long-term relationship with a man.

My eyes immediately lite up, I was so excited, I wanted to make contact with her immediately! I decided to send her an email.

The email was over the top, I came across too keen, I told her that I wanted to meet her. No surprise I did not receive a reply to my email.

I would like to share some tips I have learned from my encounters with sending emails to love interests on dating sites.

• Make the first email as casual as possible.
• Wait until you have made contact a few times before even mentioning meeting in person.
• Do not send the same message to everyone you email, make it personal by mentioning the persons interest and profile.
• If you do not receive a reply email, don’t take it to heart and DO NOT write anymore than 1 more email to that person.
