When creating your personal profile for a dating site, the most important part of the profile is your profile photo.

Your profile photo is the first thing people will see when they look at your profile, its the first thing that will be judged in your profile so it only makes sense that you seriously consider the photo you add to your profile.

The first thing to remeber is to smile, I know it seems obvious but the right smile makes such a difference. You want to capture a relaxed and natural smile in your photo and try to avoid using a photo with a forced smile in it.

a New York Times article that used data taken from OK Cupid found that women were more attracted to photos of men that did not look straight down the lens of the camera but instead off to the side slightly. Men were said to be more attracted to photos of women at home rather than party photos of woman out drinking with girlfriends.

The best advice for taking the perfect profile photo is to be relaxed and honest.
