A new ad for the Ashley Madison website that promotes married casual dating and claims to be the “the world’s largest infidelity dating site” has been banned from Australian television. The ad was shown during channel 9’s Underbelly on Sunday night and quickly received over 100 complaints.

The ad shows to lovers being intimate and has text that reads “this couple is married…. but not with each other.”

The team at Dating Debate believe it is absolutely ridiculous to ban this ad on Australian television. The ad features no nudity and no profanity but 8 words of text that promote what some people believe to be immoral.

The strangest thing about this story is that the ad aired during The Footy Show and the French Open but only received complaints when aired during Underbelly ad breaks. Channel 9’s Underbelly is filled with nudity, profanity and immoral themes such as rape, prostitution and corruption but a cheeky 30 second ad cops the abuse.
